The Iridium GMDSS SIM Card is the specialised activation card necessary for all IMO-approved Iridium GMDSS satellite communication terminals (e.g., Lars Thrane LT-3100S). As the only GMDSS solution providing 100% global coverage, including the crucial Arctic and Antarctic polar regions (Sea Area A4), this SIM card guarantees a direct line to safety authorities no matter how remote your location is.

This essential maritime safety SIM provides and activates:

• SOLAS Compliance: Ensures your vessel meets international Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requirements for GMDSS systems.

• Safety Services: Enables the three mandated GMDSS services: Distress Alert, Safety Voice (direct two-way communication with a Rescue Coordination Centre), and Maritime Safety Information (MSI) broadcasts via Iridium SafetyCast.

• Polar Coverage: The Iridium network is the only one authorized for GMDSS coverage in all sea areas, providing vital peace of mind for vessels trading globally.

• Additional Features: Often supports concurrent regulated services like Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) and Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) through the same terminal.
